Final Year Project Japanese Game Environment!

A Japanese game environment created for my final year project! This environment was inspired by two stunning games Ghost of Tsushima & Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The main goal of this project was to grow as an artist and transition from a 3D generalist's mindset to a fully-fledged environment artist that focusing on gameplay spaces, composition, lighting, use of colour and shape language! After countless research, iteration and implementation I have created an environment that I extremely am proud of! I have learned so much about the Unreal Engine and environment art during my 8 months working on this project. One aspect of environment art I wanted to focus on was staging, I added a starting area to make the temple area more impactful & more enjoyable for the player.

Sound Design by Conor Mullane!

I had the pleasure of working with Conor throughout the year as he created 3 amazing soundtracks, foley & ambient sounds for my environment and they came out better than how I imagined them.
